Last week in class on Thursday, we read children’s books in the epistolary format. I had no idea that they made children’s books in this format and it was cool to see this. They were able to make a book that had letters that you could actually hold. I thought that it was very cool and would be a great book for the first or second grade. My favorite story that we read as the crayon one. In the story each crayon wrote a letter to their owner. It was pretty funny for a children’s book. I think that this is a great way to write a book for kids because it helps with imagination. They have the crayons coming alive and writing a letter to someone. We also looked at songs, tv shows, and movies in the epistolary format. I have heard of MASH and my parents have watched it and I have seen an episode or two along the way, and I had no idea it was in the epistolary format. We also listened to “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah” by Allan Sherman. I knew this song from the show The King of Queens and it was really funny to hear it in class.
