Love Letters

Listening to and reading the love letters in class helped understand what these people had to go through when they were separated. In today’s world it is far more easy to be separated because of texting, calling, and facetime. Back then they had to wonder and picture what their partners were doing, what they looked like in some cases, etc. These people put such emotion and love into these letters. You can feel the passion when you read them. Having the reader read the notes to us was different and was easier to address a tone or sense what they were feeling or what they were going through. Listening to the “My Dear Bessie” really helped understand what people went through. It went on in time and we got to see them evolve as a couple. It was nice to see that they ended up together. Some of these letters that we listened to in class, were break up letters. Those were kind of funny and the responses were either sad or very funny. Long distance during WWII days must have been very hard and I would not have wanted to do it.
